It works to demonstrate that local governments can be an effective force for innovation and leadership in improving both the community and environment.
Four Corners Office for Resource Efficiency (4CORE) (Durango)—4CORE’s mission is to promote resource conservation, energy efficiency, and the use of clean, renewable sources of energy in order to decrease the emission of pollutants, protect public health, and strengthen the economy.
Yampa Valley Sustainability Council (Steamboat)—The mission of the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council (YVSC) is to provide leadership to advance environmental, economic, and social sustainability for current and future generations through education, and building collaboration among individuals, organizations, businesses and government.
The New Community Coalition (TNCC) (Telluride)—The TNCC, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, coordinates and manages efforts that contribute to balanced regional sustainability within San Miguel County. These efforts encompass the three tenants of sustainability: Natural Resources and Ecology, Society and Culture, and Local Economy.
Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability (Vail)—The Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability is a community organization promoting sustainable practices in recycling, energy & renewable power, and green building. It was created to foster the alignment of community and environment through education, advocacy and service.
The Atmosphere Conservancy (Fort Collins)—The Atmosphere Conservancy aims to benefit the community economically, socially, and environmentally via the development of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies at the community level by providing funding and technical resources that result in carbon emission reductions, community support, and job creation.

Climate Wise (Ft. Collins)—Since 2000, Climate Wise has been working to build and serve an active group of businesses and organizations that are committed to making Ft. Collins a world-class community through climate protection, environmental stewardship, and economic vitality.
